Khristne’s Artistic Adventure

It is said that artists put a little piece of themselves into every piece of art they create. Truer words have never been spoken regarding the designs and creations of Khristine Gilson-Baker. In high school, Khristine would create works of art for the people in her life in the form of greeting and holiday cards. She’d take the time to etch designs onto card stock, carefully cut and place brightly colored tissue paper, pencil in other designs, and even give the card the look of a stained glass window. Over the last 23 years, she’s branched out her skills to include wood and acrylic to fashion new, beautiful works of art. 

Khristine spent most of her adult life dreaming of running her own business where she could create more art to bring joy into people’s lives. After the passing of her first husband and quitting her full-time job to care for her two small children, she found herself in a new life. Remarried now with six children, she was suddenly a stay-at-home mom in need of a creative outlet. Armed with wire cutters, silk flowers, some paintbrushes, and a hopeful heart, Khristine's Khreations was born. Not one to do anything completely without her children, Unicorn Universe was also created as a place where her children could participate in the family business, think critically, and learn to make things that they and other kids could love!

Khristine puts the same level of attention, detail, and love in all her art orders that she puts into her own pieces. She truly cares about the people who order her art and adores making the art itself. She works hard to craft something special for each client, so that they may create memories and build relationships through her art. Khristine especially loves when clients bring in their own art for her to build from and show her what makes their work so special to them.
